Bedtime Routines

urlI am trying to use that precious time before I go to bed for good, not for mindless t.v. watching or celebrity gossip (don’t judge my less-than-admirable pursuits). I am instituting a new rule for myself: one hour before bedtime (which is 10 pm because I am neither a night owl nor a morning person–just an old) I will either read or write. Both things I love to do, but can be difficult to do when I get home from work because all I want to do is vegetate. Still, I never feel more productive than when I churn out a new page of writing or finish a book! Writing washes away the stresses of the day; reading transports you elsewhere, for a little while at least. A splendid way to end the day.

What are your bedtime routines?
