A Look at the Week Ahead

It’s my first post as a 25 year old! Yikes, it feels weird just typing that. And like anyone over 21 years old, I woke up with a nice headache from a few too many drinks last night. Not a fun thing about growing up, that’s for sure.

I have a super busy week ahead that I want to bitch about for a minute, kay? Well, part bitch, part excitedly talk about! My last few weeks have been pretty chill so I’m not used to a packed schedule. Tuesday and Wednesday, I have parent conferences at school. BOO! Nothing is more awkward than having to tell a parent or two that their kid sucks (kidding! I mean, “their kid is struggling”). Also, nothing like having to end school at 3 and then have three hours of straight conferences starting at 3:15.

But from there, the week gets way better! On Thursday, I’m seeing Neko Case in Minneapolis with a friend. I’ve seen her in concert 3 times before and she is such a charmer on stage. She always is very comfortable telling stories and jokes. Plus her songs are incredible and powerful. Friday, I am attending a….let’s call it an adult party. Okay, maybe that sounds worse, like I’m doing some, ahem “work,” on the side. It’s basically a ladies night with some…toys. That works a bit better, right? Then Saturday, Kevin and I are back in Marshall, hitting up the SMSU football game in his boss’ box there. That means apps and drinks so I will be good.

Besides that, I’m trying another three new recipes this week–couples meatloaf for two, tortellini bake, and a broccoli and chicken bake. I definitely have been on a comfort food kick lately, especially with the weather FINALLY staying fall-like. As always, I will let you know how things turn out!

Anyone else have a busy week ahead of them?
