Elizabeth of York: A Tudor Queen and Her World

I have mentioned Elizabeth of York several times on this blog (including the latest Philippa Gregory novel, The White Princesswhich features Elizabeth as the protagonist) and it looks like Alison Weir’s latest biography will focus on this oft-neglected first Tudor Queen. Elizabeth of York: A Tudor Queen and Her World is released on December 3. For those looking for some royal intrigue or dirt on the woman who was Henry VIII’s momma, it may be worth checking out. I am anxiously awaiting it! Elizabeth rarely gets scholarly work on her as she was often upstaged by her formidable mother-in-law Margaret Beaufort. After all, this is a Queen whose motto was “Humble and Reverent.”
