I have been hearing rave reviews for Maria Semple’s novel, Where’d You Go, Bernadette? I think I may have to read that next, maybe even this weekend. I am typically a fan of strictly the classics (Jamie can confirm my snobbish literary tastes), but in summertime it hardly seems appropriate to read depressing topics like murder, suicide, adultery and the like! Unfortunately very few classic writers wrote happy books that you would want to read by the lake or pool. Plus Maria Semple wrote for “Arrested Development” so I can only imagine how enjoyable of a read her novel must be! Has anyone read Where’d You Go, Bernadette? Any other summer reads you would recommend?
