Oh Hats

AudreyI have skin that registers in the “ghost” range of paleness. Because of that, I have to be very careful when I go out in the sun. In Florida on vacation a few years ago, I got sunburned on my hands. Let me repeat that, MY HANDS. Ever heard of someone getting sunburned on their hands? No, me neither. It wasn’t just any kind of sunburn-my hands swelled to the point where they looked like lobster claws and started to blister (my mom wrapped my hands in gauze for when I went through the airport, making me look like someone who had a botched suicide attempt). This leads me to say that in order to save my white skin, I have been employing high SPF and hats. Problem is, I look terrible in hats. My head is tiny. I either look like someone who is supposed to be attending the Kentucky Derby but got very lost and ended up in Nebraska or like I am channeling Justin Timberlake. Ugh. Why can’t I just look classy like Ms. Hepburn? Do you guys avoid the sun as much as I do? Any one lucky enough to tan easily? What is the weirdest place you have had sunburn?

Do not let this happen to you.

Do not let this happen to you.
