Sin of Indulgence

BananaPBGreekFroYoHR10.9MOnce while at the grocery store checkout line, my mom chastised J & I over our impulsive purchases. Somehow we both misheard her and thought she said they were a “sin of indulgence.” That phrase has stuck with us and we still use it to describe our little indulgences in life. In college this mostly meant our weekly “Ice Cream Thursdays,” where we would each get our own pint of ice cream and watch a movie. For college kids who were living off of $8/hour university job wages, buying a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream each week certainly felt sinful. My current sin of indulgence? Ben & Jerry’s Greek frozen yogurt peanut butter banana flavor! Is there a better combo than peanut butter and banana? No, no there isn’t. Plus since it is Greek frozen yogurt, I can pretend that it is somewhat healthy for me. Now of course ice cream isn’t the only thing I like to indulge in. My browsing history will confirm that I am an impulse buyer, someone who is willing to spend money when the moment feels right. And boy does it feel good to sin every once in a while!

What kind of things do you like to indulge in?
