Super Day

359_33955112026_3984_nBack when we were kids, my dad used to occasionally surprise us by picking us up from school early for a “Super Day.” They were never planned (at least we didn’t know when they were going to happen) and years later J & I still remember the excitement one of those days would bring. We did everything from going to a movie (including a movie testament to cross-species friendships, Zeus and Roxanne) and Toys R Us to going ice skating to going to a Chicago White Sox game! I think it is a great idea for parents to treat their kids to a “Super Day” from time to time. I think I would be happy for one even now! As you get older, you still crave those moments of spontaneity. I think this would even be a fun idea to use to surprise a significant other!

Does anyone else have stories or rituals from your childhood that you still remember?
